The Obituary
Tree Lenzy Lewis was the son of the late James and Katie Lewis. He was born on January 31, 1946 and on November 19, 2010, he surrendered to God. He was lovingly known as "Lonzy".
He joined the Crowell Baptist Church at an early age.
He later moved his membership to Smith Chapel Baptist Church.
He was a devoted worker for North Carolina Department of Transportation for 33 years. He was a loving and caring person and drew numerous of friends. He will truly be missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by two brothers: Napoleon Gary, Sr. and Kenneth Lewis.
His memory will be cherished by Ella Carolyn Peterson of 50 years; his sisters: Mary Lewis of the home, Mildred Lewis, Delois Lewis of Halifax, NC, Shirley Lewis (Austin), Doris Ann Lewis-Bell (Reggie) of Leesbrug, VA, Carolyn Elbeck, and Glenda Johnson of Baltimore, MD; his brothers: Ronald Lewis of the home, Eddie (Patricia) of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Stanley Lewis (Evelyn) of Gaston NC, Roy Lee Gary, Sr. of Hampton, VA, Nelson Lewis (Mercy), Robert Earl Lewis, James Lewis, Jr. of Baltimore, MD and Julius Edmonds (Helen) of Richmond, VA; sister-in-law: Annie Mae Gary of Newport News, VA; aunts: Margaret Elbeck of Baltimore, MD and Mariah Lewis of Halifax, NC, and Earlene Simmons (Johnnie) of Enfield, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family of Mr. Tree Lewis wishes to express their heartfelt thanks and sincere appreciation to everyone for all expressions of kindness and comfort extended to us. A special Thanks goes out to Hospice and his Caregivers as he called them his "Church Nurses". May God bless all of you.
