Susan Parker Revis was born on March 19, 1930 in Halifax County, North Carolina to the late Alex and Pearl Benjamin Parker. she transitioned from earth to eternal rest on the morning of July 2, 2023
Susan was a caring wife, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She was married to the late James Edward Revis for 34 years.
At an early age, Susan accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior. She was a faithful member of New Bethel Baptist Church, Enfield, North Carolina until her health started declining. Susan loved her church family. She was a devoted church member, Sunday School teacher, and enjoyed singing in the choir.
She received her education in Halifax County School System. She worked at the Voter Election Polls, JV Brand, was the owner of Corner Grocery Store in Enfield and was a pillar of the Enfield community.
Susan leaves to cherish her memory, Kimberly Revis Hamilton of Rocky Mount, NC, Alice Winston (Earnest), of Oxon Hill, MD, Brent Hamilton, Enfield, NC; three grandchildren, Wayne A. Revis, Darrius L. Revis and Breanna N. Hamilton; four grand-grand children, Ky'Zavion Revis, Amarion Revis, Amariyana Revis, and Jordan Revis; one sister, Pearl R. Watson, of Boston, MA; one uncle, Jonathan Benjamin of Brooklyn, NY; one aunt, Camilla Canty, of Pinewood, SC; a special niece, Pearl Wood; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends; a friend of numerous years, Bernadine Garrett.
A Funeral Service was held on Saturday, July 15, 2023 at 1:00 pm at New Bethel Baptist Church, 16419 US Highway 301, Enfield, North Carolina. A Public Viewing was held on Friday, July 14, 2023 in the Lea and Pope Funeral Home Chapel, 215 S. McDaniel Street, Enfield, North Carolina from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm and one hour prior to the funeral service, from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm. Burial followed the service in the Cedarview Cemetery, 248 Meyer Street, Enfield, North Carolina. Arrangements were handled by Lea and Pope Funeral Home, Enfield, North Carolina.
