Shelton "Bay-Bay" Clayton Boone was called home to glory on Saturday, September 4, 2010 at Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville, North Carolina. He was born on December 29, 1959 in Halifax County, North Carolina. He was the sixth child of seven children born to the late Arcie Ray and Lula Perry Boone. During his early childhood, he confessed his faith in Christ as his per¬sonal savior and joined St. Paul Baptist Church under the leader¬ship of Rev. F. L. Bullock.

He received his education from the Halifax County Public School System. He was employed at Sleglock and Consolidated Diesel Company (CDC) for a number of years before becoming disabled. "Bay-Bay" was a kind, well-liked, and good natured person. His heart-felt compassion for others enabled him to help his family, friends, and all others in need. He loved his family and enjoyed cooking for family and friends.

Bay-Bay leaves to cherish his memory: his Mother, Lula Perry Boone; children Quechelya Whitaker of Enfield, NC, Dearonne Beathea of Columbia, SC, Donshea Beathea and Shelton Arcie Boone of Enfield, NC; his grandchildren Darveon, Barrian, and Treasure; his siblings Raymond (Barbara) Boone of Garysburg, NC, Sterling "Starlight" Boone of Spruce Pine, NC, Demeatrice "Meat" and Cornetha "Neicy" Boone (John) of Enfield, NC; his Aunts Gather Mae Lewis of Jamaica, NY, Adell Wilson, Mozell Perry, and Lou Perry of Enfield, NC; his Uncle Joe Louis Boone (Barbara) of Lanham, MD; and a special and loving friend Jessica Whitaker of Enfield, NC.

Bay-Bay also leaves to mourn a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
