Robert Wilson Bunch was born March 15, 1951in Enfield (Halifax County), North Carolina on March 15, 1951 to the late Mason Bunch Sr. and Sudie Johnson Bunch. He departed this life on March 11, 2025, just four days shy of his 74th birthday.

Robert attended public schools in Halifax County. He worked for Pillow Tech for several years until their closure. He was determined to keep working so he continued to work in the industrial field and lastly at a tobacco company. Robert resided in Enfield, NC all of his life where he felt at home. He met and married the late Athugla Johnson aka Bea. They later separated, but to this union came two boys, Robert Bunch Jr. who passed in early childbirth and Victor Bunch. He also took care of his foster child, Jyqueshula Johnson as well as a niece who also looked after him for the past few years, Tiffany Coley, and lastly a nephew Chase Bryant.

Robert was a loving father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend. He was always willing to help someone whether it was for a ride or if they needed somewhere to lay their head. His beloved brothers and sisters refer to him as "Hook" and this nickname will forever be embedded with his memory. Robert had a quiet demeanor, but don't let the quietness fool you because he'd speak up when he needed to. He had a very calm and humble spirit.

Those left to cherish his memory and celebrate his life include his son, Victor Bunch (Kimberly); two granddaughters, Nioma and Kimoro; four sisters, Dorothy Bunch Joiner (Floyd), Mary Francis Wills, Velma Jean Bunch, and Paulette Marie Bunch; two brothers, John Champion Bunch II and Mason Bunch, Jr. (Janet), and one brother who is missing and possibly deceased, Lacy Bunch; one uncle, Ernest McWilliams (Irene); and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A Funeral Service was held on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 12:00 pm at First Baptist Church, 577 E. Franklin Street, Enfield, North Carolina. Burial followed in the Enfield Memorial Cemetery, Enfield, North Carolina. There was be a Public Viewing on Friday, March 21, 2025 from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm in the chapel of Lea and Pope Funeral Home, 215 S.
