Raymond Johnson was born July 1, 1937 in Halifax County, North Carolina to the late Raymond and Ellen Johnson. He grew up in Halifax, North Carolina.
Later, he moved to Brooklyn, New York where he met his loving and devoted wife, Margie. God bless this union with four children: Charles, Richard, Crystal and Ronald.
In 1976, Raymond acquired his own trucking company, R&C Express Company, which he maintained until his returning to North Carolina and retirement.
He was a member of Good Shepherd Deliverance Baptist Church where he held the office of Chairman of the Trustee Board for thirteen years until returning to North Carolina, where he enjoyed going to Ray of Hope Church, when he was able to attend.
He leaves to treasure his memories, his loving wife, Margie; his loving children, daughter: Crystal of Halifax, NC; sons: Richard (Heidi) of Brooklyn, NY, Charles (Janice) of Brooklyn, NY, and Ronald (Tanya) of Scotland Neck, NC; two sisters: Helen Johnson and Erma D. Johnson of Brooklyn, NY; one brother-in-law: Clarence V. Best of Palm Coast, FL; ten grandchildren: Charles, Matthew, Maurice, Wynette, Tiana, Richard, Ray-Rondesia, Derek, Christopher, and Justin; two great-grandchildren: Mya and Mia; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
