Paulette M.
Bunch
December 15, 1954 – August 27, 2025
Paulette Marie Bunch was born in Enfield, NC on December 15, 1954 to the late Mason Bunch Sr. and Sudie Johnson Bunch. She was the youngest of eight children. She departed this life on August 27, 2025 in hospice care in Washington, D.C.
Paulette attended public schools in Halifax County. She worked in customer service and retired from Rite Aid. She enjoyed helping and building relationships with people. Paulette resided in Enfield, NC until she decided to pave her own way by relocating to Washington D.C. at the tender age of 16. She built her life there where she had her daughter, Luchana Brinkley and son, Courtney Bunch.
Paulette best known as Polly was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend. She was always ready to have a good time with her family. Paulette had an infectious laugh, and was the life of the party. She would be ready to break out into a song and dance showing everybody her moves because as she always said, "Ain't no shame in my game." Therefore, her beloved sister and best friend Velma declared her the family "Beyonce." Paulette's constant laughter would sometimes be a coping mechanism, but it made everyone around her smile and enjoy her presence. Her beloved brothers and sisters would sometimes call her "Rat," a nickname from childhood. Her sister Velma would call her Beyonce. These nicknames will remain as a comical memory exemplifying her free spirit. Paulette was feisty in her own right, and she owned it. She had a fun, adoring, and kind spirit.
Those left to cherish her memory and celebrate her life include her daughter, Luchana and son, Courtney; four granddaughters, Laraymia (Remington), Jermilah, Keeshawn and Brooke; three grandsons, Jermaine, Shaheem, and Jermonie; seven great grandchildren, three sisters: Dorothy Bunch Joiner (Floyd), Mary Francis Wills, Velma Jean Bunch; two brothers: John Champion Bunch II and Mason Bunch, Jr. (Janet), with two brothers who preceded in death, Lacy Bunch and Robert Bunch; one uncle, Ernest Mcwilliams (Irene) and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
