Obituary

Minnie Marie Wilkins Bullock was bom on January 30, 1941 to the late John Henry and Gurene Wilkins in Halifax County, North Carolina. She departed this life on February 26, 2010 at Pitt Memorial Hospital.

Minnie was a native of Halifax County and attended Halifax County Public Schools. She accepted Christ at an early age and joined New Bethel Baptist Church in Enfield, North Carolina where she remained a faithful member until her illness.

Minnie was employed by Halifax County Public Schools for 28 years and retired in 1998. Minnie was affectionately known as Ree and to family as MaRee.

On February 19, 1971, Minnie married the love of her life, "Mr. James Douglas Bullock".

Minnie was indeed an example of a Virtuous Woman; through all of her pain she never complained.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James, and all of her siblings in which now the circle is complete.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, one son: Broderick Ward, Sr. (Janet) of Enfield, NC; one daughter: Stephanie Wilkins of the home; three grandchildren: Broderick Ward, Jr. of Fayetteville, NC, Myiesha Wilkins of the home, and Saquanta Ward Marrow (Harvey) of Fayetteville, NC; brothers-in-law: Chester Davis of Newport News, VA, McDonald Bullock (Ida) of Washington, DC and Clarence Bullock (Joann) of Washington, DC; sisters-in-law: Joanne Wilkins, Janette Victor (Vic) of Rocky Mount, NC, Edna Bostic of Washington, DC, Julia Davis of Rocky Mount, NC, and Virginia Bullock of Newport News, VA; one great-great¬grandchild: Zavier Amari Marrow; four special devoted friends: Delesha Caudle, Mamie Scott, Ernestine Jones, and Jean Cooper; and a host of nieces, great-nieces, nephews, great-nephews, other relatives and friends.

In tears we saw you sinking and watched you fade away;
Our hearts were almost broken, we wanted you to stay.
But when we saw you sleepin, so peacefully, free from pain, How could we wish you back to suffer much more pain?
