Mary Louise (Wright) Carroll was born September 23, 1937 in Halifax County to the late Junie and Fannie (Hendricks) Wright. After a brief illness she departed this earthly life on March 3, 2011 at Nash General Hospital in Rocky Mount, NC for her eternal home. Mary attended Halifax County Public Schools and graduated from Eastman High School in 1956. She joined the White Oak Baptist church at an early age, where she remained a faithful member until her health declined. She was a dedicated worker of Standard Products before retiring in 2001.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Wesley Carroll, two brothers: Theodore and Junious Wright; five sisters: Virginia, Isabel, Florence, Constance and Vottie. She leaves to cherish her memories three daughters: Phyllis (James) Whitaker, Rock)- Mount, NC, Gwendolyn (Johnnie) Whitaker, Norfolk, VA, Felicia Carroll of the home (devoted friend Alvin Whitaker, Rocky Mount, NC); one son: Condrad (Alveeta) Carroll, Enfield, NC; two devoted and loving grandsons she reared: Gary Carroll of the home and Wesley Carroll, Rocky Mount, NC; three grandsons: Carresian (Shanelle) Whitaker, Nashville, NC, Marquay Whitaker, Rocky Mount, NC, Willie (Brittany) Stevenson, Charlotte, NC; three granddaughters: Deneshia (Derek) Delapaz, Chesapeake, VA, Mar'keyla Whitaker, Rocky Mount, NC, Deirdre (Korrie) Drakes, Charlotte, NC; two great granddaughters: Dairah and Danayzja Dekpaz; five great grandsons: Carresian Whitaker, Derek Delapaz, Wesley Carroll, Jahizar and Ayden Stevenson; three sisters: Geraldine Wright and Fannie Smith, Philadelphia, PA, and Catherine (Garfield) Shirley, Norfolk, VA; three sisters-in-law, Avalean Wright, Enfield, NC, Tabytha Wright, Spring Hope, NC and Hargie Carroll, Rocky Mount, NC; two brothers-in-law: Jimmy Humphrey, Rocky Mount, NC, Herman Arrington, Norfolk, VA; six nieces, nine nephews, four precious jewels: Valerie (Angelo) Burstion, King George County, VA, Jacqueline Humphrey, Rocky Mount, NC, Cynthia (Randy) King, Battleboro, NC, Wymeatrics Banks, Richmond, VA and long life time friends Roosevelt (Celestine) Jones; Mozel Perry, Lethia Norman and Fannie Marcus. Dialysis buddy Laymond Bryant, Larry McDaniels, Mattie McGee, and Lillie Bobbit, and a host of other relatives and friends.
