Marvin Columbus "Candy" Wright, the son of Hilliard Wright and the late Dorothy Wright, was born February 12, 1941, in Halifax County. He departed his life June 28, 2006 at LifeCare Hospital in Rocky Mount, NC at the age of 65.

He attended school in Halifax County and joined Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Enfield, NC at an early age. Three siblings preceded him in death, Moses Wright, Hilliard Wright Jr., and Edna Wright.
He leaves to cherish his memories, a father Hilliard Wright Sr., of Enfield, NC. Three daughters and son-in-laws, Brenda Davis (Fred), Letress Taylor (James) of Enfield, NC, and Shirley Applewhite (James) of Tarboro, NC. Two sons and daughter-in-laws, Timothy Harrison (Karen), and Cornelius Harrison (Deloris) of Enfield, NC. Two step-sons, Clayton Harrison(Patsie) of Enfield, NC and Michael Harrison of Rocky Mount, NC. Four sisters, Ethel Bell Dukes of Whitakers, NC, Annie Bell Arrington of Rocky Mount, NC, Dorthy Bryant and Louella Wright of New Haven, Connecticut. One Brother, Charles Bryant of Newart, New Jersey. Twenty-two grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Three aunts; Katie Williams of Enfield, NC, Ruth Wright of Richmond, VA, and Lula Lyons of New York. One great-aunt, Suzanne Cutchin, of Enfield, NC. Two uncles; Haywood Wright and William Smith of Enfield, NC. Two sister-in-laws; Bessie Wright of Baltimore, MD and Helen Wright of Whitakers, NC. A special friend, Raymond Keith Wills of Enfield, NC. And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The visitation will be Sunday, July 2, 2006 at LEA & POPE FUNERAL HOME from 5- 7pm. The funeral services will be Monday, July 3, 2006 @1pm. at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, Enfield NC. Burial will follow the funeral service at Cedar View Cemetery.
