Ms. Marilyn Linda Reid, daughter of the late George L. and Mary G. Arlington, was bom on July 22,1950 in Halifax County. She departed this earthly life on Thursday, January 29,2009 at Sentara CarePlex Hospital in Hampton, Virginia.

Marilyn received her high school education from Halifax County Schools and later received her Bachelor's degree from Elizabeth City State University majoring in Business Education.

At an early age, Marilyn accepted Christ as her personal savior and joined Wayman AME Church of Enfield, North Carolina. After relocating to the Hampton, Virginia area, she later became a member of First Baptist Church East End in Newport News, Virginia.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her mother and father, as well as her brother, George Arrington, Jr.

Those left to cherish her precious memories are: one daughter, Tianna Reid Whitehurst of Raleigh, North Carolina; two grandsons, Trevien Darnell and James II; five brothers and four sisters-in-law, Louis Arrington (Margie) of Enfield, North Carolina, Charles Arrington (Maggie) of Hampton. Virginia, Thermond Arrington (Doris) of Vaktosta, Georgia, Troy Arrington (Laura) of Enfield, North Carolina and Larry Arrington of Atlanta, Georgia; one uncle, Clifton Arrington of Richmond, Virginia; six aunts, Lenora, Dorothy, Josephine, Hazel, Virginia, all of Richmond, Virginia and Mary Eliza of Garysburg, North Carolina; seven nieces; five nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
