Mrs. Lucille Howard, daughter of the late Butler and Marion Hawkins was born in Nash County, North Carolina on June 24, 1927 and departed this life on November 30, 2007 at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville, North Carolina.
At an early age, she joined Smith Chapel Missionary Baptist Church where she served as an usher for many years.
Lucille was preceded in death by her husband: Deacon Cornelius Howard, Sr.; daughter: Katherine; and two sisters: Ola Bell Duncan Branch, and Mattie Wynns.
She leaves to cherish her memories, daughters: Ethel Kirkland (James) of Irvington, NJ, Lucille Salter (Lonnie) of Chicago, IL, Deborah Macklin of Rocky Mount, NC, Renee Debrow (Julius) of Halifax, NC, Tierra Reaves of Halifax, NC and Linda Kimsey (Victor) of Rolesville, NC; sons: Grover Lee Howard of Detroit, MI, Cornelius Howard, Jr. (Leola) of Weldon, NC, and Ernest Howard, II (Justine) of Weldon, NC; brothers: Willie Hawkins, of Halifax, NC and Grover Hawkins of Durham, NC; sister-in-law: Daisy Williams of Enfield, NC; and a host of other relatives and friends.
