Lossie Mae
Silver
November 4, 1932 – April 23, 2023
Mrs. Lossie Mae Brinkley Silver was born November 4, 1932 to the late Lloyd and Mary Hunter Brinkley in Halifax County. She departed this earthly life to receive her wings on Sunday, April 23, 2023 surrounded by her loving and supportive family.
Lossie accepted Christ at an early age and joined the Greater Saints Chapel Baptist Church. She was faithful in her attendance until her health began to decline. She received her formal education from the Halifax County Schools System where she was a model student. Quiet, well-disciplined and full of smiles for everyone she encountered. She was employed as a seamstress for many years at the former JayVee Brand of Enfield, NC until her retirement in 1994.
Lossie loved watching old westerns on TV, a dire-heart Golden Girls fan, a talented cook as well as a proud grandmother and godmother to family members and children of those family members. She enjoyed helping others unconditionally and spending time with her adorable children as well as grandchildren. To know Lossie was to love her. Anyone who came into contact with her was eternally touched by her kindness, her humor, and her mild temperament. She was truly a Godly peacemaker-always full of positivity and hope. She was loved by many and her influence will forever be impacted in the lives of those she prayed for, led and guided through many situations.
Lossie was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Nello Silver on February 7, 1957. To this union seven children were born; four daughters and three sons.
Those preceding her in death were her parents, Lloyd and Mary Hunter Brinkley, her beloved brother, Chester Brinkley, a grandson, Dwayne Silver and a special aunt, Carrie Ann Hunter, who served in the role of sister to her.
Lossie's beautiful legacy forever lives on through her husband, Mr. Nello Silver of the home, her children: Judy Silver, Wendell, NC, Evelyn Silver-Haynes, Raleigh, NC, Dwayne Silver, Wendell, NC, Tyrone Silver (Rochelle), Clayton, NC, Tony Silver (Linda), Clayton, NC, Darnesia Silver, Raleigh, NC, and Keysa Williams (Samuel), Knightdale, NC; Eighteen grandchildren: Latrelle, Anthony, Camille, Shawn, Ashley, Torri, Reynard, LaToya, Lamar, Ryan, Riis, Toniqui, Travis, Anaja, Darius, Jasmine and Tyree; her legacy also lives on through her great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
