Obituary

Lee James departed this life on July 28, 2009 on Tuesday morning in Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center, Brooklyn, New York after a sudden illness.

He was the son of the late Haywood James and Fannie James Peterson, born in Scotland Neck North Carolina on March 5, 1913.

Lee James received his education at Enfield Grade School. He served in the United States Army for four years and received an Honorable Discharge. He was married to the late Sarah Mae Small of Brooklyn New York. To that union no children were born, however they had great love for their nieces and nephews.

Lee James was a people person who enjoyed talking about the goodness of the Lord. His name rang loud at the Wartburg Nursing Home where he resided. Everyone loved and respected him. His hobby was watching and talking about baseball. During his younger days he enjoyed playing base¬ball and was an excellent pitcher.

He loved everyone whom he met but had a special bond with his guardian, Pastor Richard Wheelous and his long time family friend, Rev. Jannie Poullard.
