King Solomon Pittman, Jr., "Buddy Sol", was born December 28, 1919 in Halifax County, North Carolina to the late King Solomon Pittman, Sr. and Louvenia Lane Pittman.
His life ended as he answered the Master's call for his eternal rest on Saturday, January 12, 2008 at 6:30 a.m. at Britthaven Nursing Center in Enfield, North Carolina.
"Buddy Sol" was educated at Enfield Graded School and Bricks High School. After serving in the military and World War II, he returned home and married his belated wife, Queen Esther Pittman. Afterwhich, he went on to receive professional training from Barber's College in Winston Salem, North Carolina.
"Buddy Sol" was the sole proprietor of King's Barber Shop on Hannon's Street, Enfield, North Carolina from the year of 1942 through the year of 2008. Through his profession at the Barber Shop, he served several people in the community with destination, a service in which he took great pride.
Later on in his life, "Buddy Sol" joined the First Baptist Church in Enfield, North Carolina where he remained faithful until his health failed.
Those left to cherish his memories include two children that he raised with love and affection: Clevy Pittman (Marie) of Enfield, NC and Queen Delores Hyman (Plunk) of Bronx, NY; great-grandchildren: Ashley N. Pittman of Brooklyn, NY and Tara Thompson of Washington, DC; fourteen other great-grandchildren; one sister: Margaret Bell of Enfield, NC; great-nieces: Beverly and Minister Renee Pittman of Brooklyn, NY, Arnetta Lee of Washington, DC, Cynthia Jones of Ellicott City, MD, Robin, and Debbie and Georgette, both of New York; great-nephews: George, Jr. and Coley, both of New York; and a host of other relatives and friends.
