Obituary


Kalya Monique Brinkley, born October 8, 1974 to Phyllis L. Brinkley and the late James E. Sanders (Butch) in Enfield, NC, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, March 1, 2012.

Kalya attended Halifax County Public Schools and graduated from Southeast High School in 1992. She continued her education, attending Nash Community College, majoring in Medical Administration. She was employed by Kaba Ilco Unican until her health failed.

Davis (Pat), Seattle, WA and Robert and Lillie Lowe,Rocky Mount, NC; four aunts: Phyllis Sanders, Sheila Harper (James) and Tanisha Brinkley of Enfield, NC and Joyce Sanders, Brooklyn, NY; two uncles, Marcus Brinkley (Tracy) & Derrick Brinkley of Enfield, NC; a special great aunt, Lissie S. Bobbitt of Enfield; three special cousins: Edna Grant, Brooklyn, NY, Monica Gatling, Coral Springs, FL and Tania White, Enfield, NC; godmother, Shirley Johnson; a special nephew who was her little buddy, Tramare D. Brinkley; special parents of the heart, Ben and Josephine Silver (Ma Anna & Pops); a special niece, sister and friend, Takesha Silver, Charlotte, NC; four sister-girlfriends: Candice Hedgepeth, Whitakers, NC, Mat-Te Giles, Flagler Beach, FL, Bonita Pryor, Whitaker, NC, Kesha Moore, Oxon Hill, MD; a host of nephews, nieces and other relative and friends.
