Judy Mae Cannady Holloway

August 7, 1947 - Delivery

October 21, 2010 - Deliverance

She was a Wife, Mother, Sister, Grandmother, Foster Mom, Aunt, Sister-in-law, Friend, Confidante, Chef, Minister, Choir Director, Gardener, Trainer, and Childcare Provider. Such was the person of Reverend Judy Mae Cannady Holloway, a gift sent to us by our Heavenly Father. She was born the fourth child to the late Willie, Sr. and Viola Cannady in Raleigh, NC. The call was given and Judy answered on Thursday evening at Wake Medical Center, Cary, NC.

Judy was educated in the Wake County School System. After graduating from Berry O'Kelly High School she attended Saint Augustine's College in Raleigh, NC.

Judy accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and was a longtime member of the Wake Chapel Baptist Church. She served as Choir Director Extraordinaire for the Junior and Senior Choirs; during this time she was called into the ministry. She joined her husband in the pastorate of Williams Grove Baptist Church of Raleigh, NC where they served many years. Later Rev. Judy and her family joined the Friendship Chapel Baptist Church in Wake Forest, NC where she was a faithful member until her death.

Rev. Johnnie Holloway was the love of Judy's life. They met and fell in love in high school, married and became the proud parents of eight children, and many more whom she loved and cared for at various times. Judy loved everyone she met; she never met a stranger. She taught those around her how to love unselfishly. Many lives have been touched by her and she will truly be missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Willie, Sr. and Viola Cannady, her brother, Willie Can-nady, Jr. and sister, Donna C. Ball. She leaves to continue on this journey her husband, Rev. Johnnie Holloway, Sr., sons, 'Elder Michael Holloway, Sean Holloway (Chandra), Johnnie Hollo-way, Jr., Joel Holloway (Kechia) and Brian Reico Holloway; daughters, Tanisha Holloway, Kei-sha Ball and Kristel Holloway; sister, Carolyn C. Bishop and God-sisters, Debbie Johnson, An¬gela Harris and Deborah C. Breedlove. She also adopted into her family special sons and daughters, Alecia Brown, Lisa Williams, Beulah Pickett, Deborah Conley, Cynthia Smith, Tabitha Holloway, Spring DeGraffenreidt, Amanda Green, Sandra Carrington, Zack Woods, Shawn Farrington and Frankie Moore; one special Godmother, Elsie Potter; twenty-two grand-children, nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law and a host of relatives and friends.

"Amazing Grace shall always be my song of praise; for it was Grace that bought my liberty. I do not know just why he came to love me so. He looked beyond my faults and saw my needs. How marvelous the Grace that caught my fallen soul. He looked beyond my faults and saw my needs."
