Johnnie S. Thorne's Obituary
Mrs. Johnnie Sue Thorne, daughter of the late Lucy and Kinzy Goode, was born March 4, 1917 in Halifax County, North Carolina. She entered into eternal life on Sunday, April 13, 2008 at Nash General Hospital in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. She received her education through Halifax County Schools.
She was preceded in death by her husband: James C. Thorne; a grandson: Melvin C. Thorne, Jr.; three sisters: Lucy, Annie and Nannie; and four brothers: Mike, Percy, Joseph and Edward.
She leaves to cherish her memories, two children: Dorothy Goode of Jamaica, NY and Melvin Thorne (Gloria) of Enfield, NC; eleven grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
