The Obituary
John was born in Washington D.C. on March 2, 1964 to the late John and Emma Lee Cloyd. On August 18, 2010, John David entered into eternal rest surrounded by family and friends.
John was educated in the Nash County Public School System where he was an avid wrestler. He worked as a carpenter and in lawn maintenance care.
In 1989, John met and married Dora Whitaker. He lived to share the joy of three stepchildren, Candace, Frank, and Breach Whitaker.
John leaves to cherish his memories, one sister: Estella Whitaker of Whitakers, NC; one uncle: Lester McClain of Whitakers, NC; two aunts: Dorothy Ricks of Whitakers, NC and Cassie Mae Smith of Battleboro, NC; two nieces: Vickie Phillips of Rocky Mount, NC and Margaret Paschal of Arlington, VA; two nephews: John Whitaker of Maryland and Anthony Whitaker of Whitakers, NC.
His partner in life and constant companion was JoAnn Cook, who says to him...John you were well-liked, mannerable and respectful. I love you, will greatly miss you, but want you to know that you will always be my "Bread and Butter". JoAnn Cook
