Bro. Joe Louis Pittman, son of the late Leroy Pittman and Daisy Price was born November 18, 1936 in Halifax County, North Carolina, He departed his life March 30, 2008 at Britthaven Nursing Home in Enfield, North Carolina.
Joe attended Halifax County Schools and was a farmer for many years. He joined Springfield Baptist Church at an early age and remained faithful until his health declined.
Joe was joined in holy matrimony to Marilyn Solomon on October 19, 1958 and to this union three daughters were born. Joe has one son. His parents Leroy and Daisy Pittman preceded him in death. In addition to his parents, two sisters; Jerrie Williams and Geneva Pittman; and one brother, Louis Pittman preceded him in death.
Joe leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Marilyn Pittman, three daughters; Idella White (Arthur) of Baltimore, MD, Priscilla Whitaker (Min. Bud Albert), and Sandra Pittman both of Enfield, NC. One son, Cornelious Harper of Enfield, NC; two sisters, Carolyn Pittman Bryant of Enfield, NC and Queen Esther Pittman of Roanoke Rapids, NC; eleven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, nineteen nieces and nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
