Obituary

Janice Faye Williams was born on August 20, 1951 to the late Leroy R. McCleam, Sr. and Eula Mae Sanders. She departed this life on June 20, 2007 at her home in Raleigh, NC.
Janice attended Ligon High School and continued her education in early childhood development, where she received Certifications at St. Augustine College and North Carolina State University. She began her teaching career at Walnut Terrace childhood development center for five years.
While employed at Walnut Terrace Childhood Development Center, she met her late husband, Gerald Williams, Sr. They had four children together, three sons: Michael, Gerald, Jr., Maurice and a daughter: Nikitra Yvette Williams. She was very fortunate to be able to stay home and become a housewife to raise all her children.
She dedicated her time and efforts as a loving mother, wife, and dear friend. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing Bingo with neighborhood friends and spending time with her children.
At an early age, Janice began her Christian walk with the Lord. She and her family attended Union Baptist Church. As her husband's talent expanded, Janice began attending St. James AME Church in search of a Christian home. Janice and Jerry later joined Poplar Spring UCC Church in 1986.

Within the same year, she joined the J.W. Albright Singers, under the musical orchestration of her late husband, Gerald "Jerry" Williams, Sr. She used her anointing gift in leading songs and directing choirs, as well as volunteering her time to Poplar Springs UCC Beautification Committee.
Over the past few years, after the loss of her husband, Janice struggled through several heart related illness. She continued to walk with God through ministering to others about the Lord, giving a loving smile, or words of encouragement.
Janice Williams' final days were spent with the Lord. Her journey on earth was completed on June 20, 2007.
Janice leaves to cherish her precious memories, her three sons: Michael and Gerald Williams, Jr. of Atlanta, GA, and Maurice Williams of Raleigh, NC; one daughter: Nikitra "Yvette" Williams of Knightdale, NC; three aunts: Pearline Smith, Annie D. Sanders and Helen Stancil, all of Raleigh, NC; sisters: Ella J. Tye of Hampton, VA, Francis, Diane, Denise, Joyce, Carolyn, Claudia and Alice: brothers: Ronnie, Larry (Peggy), Gordon, Willie and Leroy; five grandchildren: Jaelon, Teyiah, Sabian, Xavier and Micah.; and a host of nieces and nephews, who all loved her dearly, and other relatives and friends.
We love you; we miss you; and we'll be together again one day.
