James T. Williams, was born on February 17, 1916 to the late Eliard and Bashia Joyner Williams. James was the second of three children, the late St. Clair Williams. At an early age, he joined the Wayman A.M.E Church. During the first score of his life, he was educated in the public schools of Halifax County and graduated from Eastman High School in 1934.
On Sunday, April 30, 2006, James quietly and peacefully left his earthly home and entered into the presence of the Lord. He leaves to cherish his memories two daughters: Joyce W. Davis of Upper Marlboro, MD and Gwen W. Thompson of Concord, NC; a son: James T. Williams, Jr. of the home; two sons-in-law: Charles Thompson and Barrington Davis; two daughters-in-law: Perlean Williams and Valerie Williams; two sisters-in-law: Louise Johnson and Neavie Williams; eleven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral Services are Saturday, May 6, 2006 at Wayman A.M.E. Church. Interment will be at the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held Friday, May 5 from 6-8 at H.D. Pope Funeral Home in Roanoke Rapids.
