Mr. James Douglas Bullock was born on August 8, 1945 to the late Hattie and Leslie Bullock Sr., and departed this life on August 12, 2008 at Nash General Hospital in Rocky Mount, NC. James was a native of Halifax County and attended Halifax County Public Schools.
James was employed with the town of Enfield for 30 years and retired

in 1997. James went back to work part-time to help the town out. James was
affectionately known by his co-workers as "Pole".
He was preceded in death by his sister, Yvonne, and brothers, Matthew, Leslie and William.
James was truly a man of little words with a heart of gold that gave far more than he received. He was quiet, patient, and always humble.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife: Minnie; step-son: Broderick, Sr. (Janet) of Enfield, NC; step-daughter: Stephanie Wilkins of the home; three step-grandchildren: Broderick Ward, Jr. (Teresa) of Norfolk, VA, Myiesha Wilkins of the home and Saquanta Morrow (Harvey) of Fayetteville, NC; brothers: McDonald Bullock (Ida) of Washington, DC, and Clarence Bullock (Joann) of Washington, DC, sister: Julia Davis of Rocky Mount, NC, Janette Victor (Vic) of Rocky Mount, NC and Edna Bostic of Washington, DC; sisters-in-law: Virginia Bullock of Newport News, VA and Elsie Davis (Chester) of Newport News, VA; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
