Funeral Service Saturday April 11, 2020 1:00 pm at Lea & Pope Funeral Home Chapel, 215 S. McDaniel St. Enfield, NC 27823.

A viewing will be held Friday April 10,2020 at Lea & Pope Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will follow at Ivory Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

A Legacy Well Lived

Horace was known for his expertise in carpentry work. He always kept his home looking beautiful.  He loved playing his guitar and sinning God's praises actively in the Church until his health declined. He served on the Deacon Board of Ivory Hill Baptist Church for years and also was a part of the all Male Choir. He was loved by many and will never be forgotten for all talents he bestowed upon all the lives he touched.

On January 9, 1954 he married the love of his life, Beaufort Macon whom he shared 66 amazing years.  To this union, they shared four beautiful children whom he loved unconditionally, Joyce, Daniel (Bud), Gail and Horace jr., and a niece that he raised as his own daughter, Alma Jean Howard.

His life legacy is an example of life well lived and we all will follow in his footsteps from this day forward. He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving and devoted wife, Beaufort; his children, Joyce Evans (Donnell) of Hollister, NC, Gail Tabron of Farmville, NC, Daniel (Doris) of Hollister, NC, and Horace JR. of the home: grandchildren, Takisha Daniels (Adam) of Winterville, NC, Miriah Lynch of Hollister, NC, Debbie, Beverly, Linda Howard of Maryland, and Christopher Howard of Fayetteville, NC; four great-grandchildren, Christopher, Alaina, Laila, and Jeremiah; five sisters-in-law, Madeline, Eva, Marie (Sam), Arleane (Henry) all of Enfield, NC, and Lois(J.T) of Wilson, NC, and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends
