Herman Lee Hopkins was born on June 10, 1958, in Nash County, North Carolina to the late James Hopkins and Margaret Barnes Hopkins. He stepped out of his earthly house into his eternal home on Sunday, October 12, 2025.

Herman accepted the Lord as his personal savior in 2014. He joined Kingdom Empowerment Ministries, Inc. under the leadership of Apostle Emma Dickens. In 2015, he was appointed to serve in the Deacon Ministry. He also served as a parking attendant.

Herman attended the Edgecombe County Public Schools. He worked faithfully at Nash General Hospital in the maintenance department. He also worked at the movie theatre. His hobbies included watching Monday Night RAW and Friday Night Smackdown Wresting, watching football, especially The Washington Redskins, which was his favorite team, and going to the stockyard and shopping. His favorite saying was "I love my boys" and he loved the song "Trackman."

Deacon Herman leaves to cherish his precious memories, his wife of the home, Pamela Caudle; six children, Joseph Lee Hunter of Hawaii, Desmond Caudle, Malik Hopkins, D'von Hopkins, and Emmanuel Hopkins, all of the home; one daughter, Shana Caudle of Greenville, NC; three sisters, Hazel Latney Hopkins, Baltimore MD, Marjorie Hopkins, and Mary Burgess, both of Washington, DC; three brothers, Willie Hopkins, Joseph Hopkins, and Larry Hopkins, all of Rocky Mount, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A Memorial Service was held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 1:00 pm in the chapel of Lea and Pope Funeral Home, 215 S. McDaniel Street, Enfield, North Carolina. Lea and Pope Funeral Home, Enfield, North Carolina handled the arrangements. Send condolences to leapopefuneralhome@yahoo.com.
