Hattie Mae Crowell, daughter of Dorothy Christine Brinson Crowell and the late Tom Crowell, was born on October 19, 1965 in Halifax County, North Carolina. On Tuesday, January 25, 2011, she peacefully departed this earthly life at Pitt Memorial Hospital, Greenville, North Carolina.
She was educated in the Halifax County Public Schools, graduating from Northwest Halifax High School, Littleton, North Carolina in 1984. She received her CNA License from Nash Community College. Hattie was employed by Nash Rehab, Rocky Mount, North Carolina.
At an early age, she became a member of Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church, Enfield, North Carolina where she remained a faithful member even in the midst of declining health. She lived life with a smile.
In addition to her father, Hattie Mae was preceded in death by one sister, Lynette, and one niece, Christina "Brianna" Crowell.
Those left to cherish her memory are her mother, Dorothy Crowell and her fiancee, Kevin Ray Mitchner both of the home; her brothers: Michael Crowell (Gloria) of Halifax, NC; Ronald Crowell (Georgia) of Enfield, NC; Johnnie Johnson (Collie) of Littleton, NC; one sister, Debra Wilkins (Calvin) of Enfield, NC; four uncles: Artis Crowell (Betty) of Enfield, NC; James Brinson (Patricia), Julius Brinson (Ethel), all of Enfield, NC, Otto Brinson (Mary) of Charles City, VA; three aunts: Clementine Brinson of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Ida Washington (Herman) of Enfield, NC, and Rebecca C. Arrington (Sam) of Halifax, NC; one great "aunt, Mary Brinson of Hollister, NC; two special friends: Patricia Clifton of Louisburg, NC, and Stephanie Mitchner of Spring Hope,NC; a host of neices, nephews, numerous other relatives and friends.
