Geraldine Simmons, daughter of the late Nedra Simmons-Stevenson and the late Almond "Boy"
Williams, was bom on October 19, 1952 in Halifax County, North Carolina. She departed this life on October 22, 2008 at Nash General Medical Center in Rocky Mount, North Carolina.

Geraldine was a beautiful, gentle, and free-hearted woman who had nothing but love for everyone. Her giving heart and love for children are very rare traits in these days. She will forever leave for us all a legacy of kindness and generosity that should guide us eternally.

She attended school in the Halifax County School System. At an early age, Geraldine joined Lebanon Baptist Church of Darlington, North Carolina. She later joined Saint Paul Baptist Church, Enfield, North Carolina under the pastorship of Rev. Danny F. Ellis.
Geraldine leaves to cherish her memories, one daughter: Jeanette Loretta Alston (Michael) of Enfield, NC; two grandchildren: Tiffany Simmons and Michael Alston, Jr., both of Enfield, NC; two great¬grandchildren: Zy'Quavious and Zy'Kueria Simmons, both of Enfield, NC; three sisters: Sylvia Gibson (Glenn) of Jamaica, NY, Alveeta Carroll (Condrad) of Enfield, NC and Donna Ray White of Whitakers, NC; three brothers: Samuel Simmons (Rhada) of College Point, NY, Jeremiah Simmons (Barbara) of Enfield, NC and Robert Earl White (Sonia) of Whitakers, NC; a very special cousin and friend: Juanita Powell; and a host of special uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
