Obituary

Emma Elois Evans, daughter of the Essie Nicholson and the late Bettie Williams was born in Halifax County on January 28, 1956 and went to be with her dad and saviour on February 28, 2011. Emma was educated in Halifax County Public Schools. She has been employed by Americap for many years.

At an early age, Emma joined Ivory Hill Baptist Church and remained a faithful member. She enjoyed singing in the choir and greeting worshipers. Emma was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many. She always wore a smile and had a kind word to say. She was an inspiration to everyone she met. She enjoyed shopping and spending time with her family.

In 1973, she was united in holy matrimony to Milton Evans, Sr. To this union they were blessed with two children: Dwayne and Milton, Jr. Emma leaves to cherish her memory: her husband of thirty seven years, Milton of the home; father, Essie Nicholson of Enfield, NC; two sons: Dwayne (Ebony) Evans of Rocky Mount, NC, Milton Evans, Jr. of Enfield, NC; three stepsons: Cody, Decarlos, and Brandon Richardson; two sisters: Gloria (Randolph) Macon of Enneld, NC, Diane of Rocky Mount, NC; three sister-in-laws Minnie, Collie, and Edna; one brother-in-law Jimmy; twelve grandchildren; two nephews and one special aunt Bessie Evans; a host of aunts, uncles, family, friends, and her "adopted" daughter Nicole Dancy.
