Donnell Hendricks was born to John Henry (Jack) Hendricks and Cora Lee Hendricks on July 7, 1958 In Halifax County, North Carolina and departed this earthly life on April 12, 2011 at Halifax Regional Medical Center in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina. Donnell was a very friendly and outgoing person. Loved by everyone that knew him, a stranger to no one. He was always willing to do things to help those in need. He was married to Joyce Gwen Garner.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Henry Hendricks, and one brother-in-law, McKever Garner, Jr.
Cherishing his memory of warmth, love, and laughter are: his wife Joyce Hendricks of the home; four children: Angela Williams (Terry) of Littleton, NC, James Boone of the home, Alicia Richardson of Warrenton, NC and Yolanda Evans of Rocky Mount, NC; six grandchildren: Brittany Williams, Ashley Williams, Jayden Boone, Jaylen Richardson, Alianna Richardson, Adrianna Richardson. His mother, Cora Lee Hendricks of Enfield, NC. Four sisters: Dianne Bailey (Arthur) of Sterling, VA, Evelyn Hendricks (Fletcher Lewis) of Rocky Mount, NC, Carolyn Hendricks of Enfield, NC, Alfreda Hendricks (John Sparks) of Marion SC, Deborah Ward (Carlton) of Enfield, NC; five brothers: Ronnie (Jeannet) of Roanoke Rapids, Dewayne Hendricks (Twyla) of Round Hill, VA, Calvin Hendricks (Sharlice) of West, VA, John Hendricks and Maurice Hendricks of Enfield, NC; five aunts: Delorse Britts (Sam) of Enfield, NC, Mae Wilkens of Enfield, NC, Thelma Powell of Enfield, NC; three uncles: William Hendricks (Thelma) of Enfield, NC, Ivory Hedgepeth of Enfield, NC and sister-in-law, Harriet Richardson (Carlton); brother-in-law, Delaney Garner (Rochelle); in laws, Mr. and Mrs. Mckever Garner, Sr. all of Hollister, NC; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be held Sunday 2PM at Lea & Pope Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Garner Family Cemetery. A visitation will be held Saturday 5-7PM at Lea & Pope Funeral Home
