Donnie Perkins, daughter of the late Henry and Mollie Reynolds, was born September 12, 1912 in Halifax County, North Carolina. She went home to rest on Sunday, September 7, 2008 at New Community Nursing Home in Newark, New Jersey.

She was married for sixty-nine years to the late Cleveland Perkins, Sr., who preceded her in death. To this union, nine children were born, four who preceded her in death: Catherine Perkins, Roosevelt Perkins, Jessie Mack Perkins and Robert Lee Perkins.

She leaves to cherish her memories, one daughter: Katie Mae Whitaker of Newark, NJ; four sons: William (Jack) Perkins of Newark, NJ, Raymond Perkins of Greenville, NC, Lenward Perkins and Cleveland Perkins, Jr., both of Rocky Mount, NC; two daughters-in-law: Ruby Perkins and Annie Perkins of Newark, NJ; twenty-six grandchildren; forty-eight great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
