Donald Harper, son of Martha Harper and Curtis Curtier, was born on July 5, 1949 in Enfield, North Carolina. Donald departed this life on August 8, 2010 in Brooklyn, New York.
Donald attended Halifax County Schools. He got his Auto Mechanic Certification in Brooklyn, New York. He was a hard-working man. Donald would help anyone who would come his way. He would give you his last. Donald was employed at Hay Brothers Truck and Trailer Repair in Queens, New York for ten years.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Benjamin and Gregory and one daughter, Martha Ann.
He leaves to cherish those unforgettable memories, his loving mother: Martha of Brooklyn, NY; his father: Curtis of Enfield, NC; three sons: McDonald Harper and Curtis Harper, both of Enfield, NC and Charles Gorham of New Jersey; two daughters: Francisca Harper and Rashonda Brinkley, both of Enfield, NC; two sisters: Annette (Larry) Lineszy of Brooklyn, NY and Linda Evans Mayo of Rocky Mount, NC; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three aunts: Thelma Harper (Second Mother) of Enfield, NC, Louise (Romeus) Garrett of Enfield, NC, Dorothy Mae Eubanks of Queens, NY; one uncle: Ray Harper of Brooklyn, NY; three great-aunts: Betty (Rev. Battle) of Enfield, NC, Alice Whitaker and Vernell Whitaker, both of Rocky Mount, NC; one great-uncle: Christopher (Sally) Whitaker of Roosevelt, NY; special friend: Maxine Harper Hardy; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
