Mr. Chester Brinkley, son of the late Mary and Lloyd Brinkley, was born April 15, 1935 in Halifax County, North Carolina. He departed to join his Heavenly Savior on Friday, January 5, 2007 at 1:15 PM in the comfort of his home.

He worked at Ceco Building Division over 25 years as a machinist. He operated the Z-line on second shift. He joined in Holy Matrimony to Willa Mae Scott on April 11, 1958. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Willa, his oldest daughter, Angela and his grandson Alphonso.

He leaves to cherish his memory, two daughters: Renee M. Lyons of the home and Kimberly D. Brinkley of Lawrenceville, GA; one sister and brother-in-law: Lossie and Nello Silver of Enfield, NC; four grandchildren: Terrel Brinkley of the home, Antar Abdullah of the US Navy, who is stationed in Italy, April Taylor of the US Army, who is stationed in Germany and Amir Abdullah of Lawrenceville, GA; one great-granddaughter: Chye Taylor; one uncle: Linwood Brinkley of Richmond, VA; one aunt: Georganna Parker of Enfield, NC; six brothers-in-law; five sisters-in-law; special cousins Barbara and Jeremiah Simmons; special sister-in-law and close friend : Cassie Scott; two best friends: Jessie L. Bullock and Ronnie Mallory; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
