Carlos Anthony Howington, son of Victoria Silver Howington and the late Hollis Howington, was born on April 25, 1959 in Halifax County, North Carolina. He departed this
life on April 9, 2009 at his home. Two sons preceded him in death: Tony and Marcus and one sister: Mary Ellen Howington Lewis.

At an early age, Carlos was baptized at St. Paul Baptist Church in Enfield, North Carolina under the leadership of Rev. Frank Bullock.

He received his education through the Halifax County Public School System. Carlos faithfully served his country in the United States Army for numerous years and received an Honorable Discharge. "Champ" was well known in the Enfield community, as he was a "Handy Man" and brought laughter to those in his company.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife: Anita M. Howington of Windsor, NY; one daughter: Kenyatta Hedgepeth of Enfield, NC; one son: Carlos Anthony Howington, Jr. of Windsor, NY; his loving mother: Victoria Silver Howington of Enfield, NC; three grandchildren: Jaquana Haymon, Alexis Hedgepeth, and Tavion Hedgepeth; two sisters: Doris Arlington (Johnny) and Betty Pittman (Calvin), both of Enfield, NC; three brothers: Travis Howington, Andy Howington and Willie Howington, all of Enfield, NC; four nieces: Angela Bridges (Darryl), and Cynthia Brice (Dennis), both of Raleigh, NC, Missy Alston of Rocky Mount, NC and Shanetta Pittman of Enfield, NC; three nephews: Kelvin Silver (Tomeka) of Snowhill, NC, Michael Pittman (Sonya) of Charlotte, NC and Leondus Howington of Scotland Neck, NC; two aunts: Laura Mae Cousar and Dorothy Louise Marshall, both of Enfield, NC; nine great-nieces; six great-nephews; special friends: Donnell Gardner, Clarence Johnson, Nicolette Johnson, Anthony Jones, Cousin Wayne Carroll, Pete Davis, Cousin Moses Silver, Cousin Alvin Perry, Cousin Sheldon Boone, Dennis Bullock and Cousin Niecy Boone; and a host of other relatives and friends.
