Funeral service will be held Thursday April 9, 2020 1:00 PM at Lea & Pope Funeral Home Chapel.

A viewing will be held Wednesday April 8, 2020 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Lea & Pope Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will follow At Elmwood Cemetery, Enfield, NC.

Obituary

Arthur was known by "Joe" to everyone who knew him. Arthur was born on August 15, 1947 to Allean and William Fenner. Arthur received his education at Halifax County Schools. Arthur received his mechanic certification at Halifax Community College. He worked at Scotfield Country Club for more than 40 years as a maintenance worker until he retired. Arthur joined the Evangelistic Church of Delivence in 1971 and was a devoted trustee member.

Arthur had five sisters that preceded him in death. Florence Gunter, Ethel Parker, Blanche Lee Pittman, Geneva Morgan, and Deathrean Lynch; one brother preceded him in death, Robert Fenner.

Arthur leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 50 years, Ruth Marie Fenner. He had 4 children, Marie Hargrove (Thomas) of Enfield, Martha Green (Wilson) of Weldon, Arthur Fenner(Chequita) of Elkridge, MD, and Gregory Fenner (Cynthia) of Battleboro.  He had one brother William "Buddy" Fenner (Cynthia) of Enfield.  Arthur had 7 grandchildren, Thomas Fenner, Shanika Fenner, Antonio Fenner, Shannon Fenner, Gregory Caleb Fenner, Jada and Joshua Fenner. Arthur had 3 great-grand children: Ty'Quay Fenner, Myasia Fenner and Tonika Torrain.  He had 2 God Children, Christine Armstrong and Lillie Mae Gunter and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends

Arthur was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin, friend and family man to all who knew him.  He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
