"Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: "Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all."
"Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Give her the reward she has earned, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate."
Proverbs 31:28-31
August 31, 1934 was a joyous day for the late Willie and Daisy Hawkins Lowe. They had been blessed with a beautiful baby girl whom they named Alma Bernice. At the age of 13, Alma accepted Christ as her personal savior and was baptized by the late Reverend Louis Young. She joined Wayman AME Church, Enfield, North Carolina.
Alma attended Eden and Hardee Elementary Schools. She was a member of Eastman High School's graduating class of 1954.
On September 4, 1954, Alma and Hosea Solomon were united in Holy Matrimony and relocated to Brooklyn, New York. To this union, four children were born. A son, Cecile Lowell, the third child, preceded her in death.
Alma worked and retired with honors after 25 years of impeccable service from the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation.
Cherishing Alma's beautiful memory are her husband of 56 years: Hosea, of the home; one daughter: Sonjia Jean Solomon Parker; two sons: Clyde Elvis Solomon and Gloster Solomon (Carrie), all of New York; nine grandchildren: Shakima Brown, Khadija Brown, Klaiton Parker, Marcel Parker, Rashaan Solomon, Maleek Solomon, Kaleel Solomom (deceased), Malcolm Solomon and Brianna Solomon; seven great-grandchildren; Isaiah Thompson, Kaleb Lemaire, Jonathan Parker, Talib Parker, Samaya Solomon, Zaharah Solomon and Maleek Prince Solomon; seven nieces; four

Psalm 30.5
DEAR MOMMY
In between our tears, we saw you sinking,
and we saw you fading away. Our hearts were truly broke; we wanted you to staY. But when we saw you sleeping, so peaceful and free of pain, how could we wish you back with us
To go through that again?
A golden heart stopped beating; two busy hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He always takes the best.
We Love You, Mommy, Your Children
Condolences are welcomed!
